The mission of FEDES FOUNDATION is to promote human development in two main areas:

• Enhance the quality of life for all members of the community, especially those who are poor, suffering or otherwise disadvantaged.

• Invest in human resources. Mankind is the greatest and most important asset on the planet. Training people in the context of moral values is a necessary condition for building a better world.

Though FEDES is not a religious ministry, God’s laws and the principles of the Gospel are the foundation of our faith and the driving force behind our actions. We believe that all of the evils in the world are caused by man's lack of love for God and his fellow man.

 

Current president and founder, Steven Colon Santos, decided to establish himself in Chile with his family in 1998. Prior to this he had done volunteer work for fifteen years in various Latin American countries. Steven Colon, Project Manager of Family Care Foundation in Chile. In a joint effort with this American foundation, important medical equipment donation projects were conducted which benefited public hospitals in various regions of the country.

After two years in Chile, the enterprises undertaken increased both in volume and complexity, and so, in the year 2001, an application was submitted for creating a foundation with the participation of the current Board of Directors and the help of other co-workers. That is how FEDES Foundation was created.
